Flood Control District
The Flood Control District participates in Maricopa County's Public Works Student Internship Program, a paid program that allows students to integrate their academic studies with practical work experience.
Juvenile Court Center
Internship opportunities offer education and training to students who want to learn more about Juvenile Court and Juvenile Probation as a career field. Adults can volunteer to serve on the Community Justice Panels or in various capacities of the Maricopa County Juvenile Probation Department.
Elections Department
Voting Rights Act Internship
The internship positions are available for the Primary-General Election cycles. The intent of this program is to provide students with insight into the conduction of elections from an administrative perspective. This internship will focus on the procurement of bilingual boardworkers and compliance with the Voting Rights Act of 1965 by providing an overview of how boardworkers are solicited, trained, dispatched, evaluated, and compensated.
Help America Vote Act Internship (ADA/HAVA) Internship
The internship positions are available for the Primary-General Election cycles. The intent of this program is to provide students with insight into the conduction of elections from an administrative perspective. This internship will focus on adherence to the American Disabilities Act and the Help America Vote Act by providing an overview of how the department provides alternative forms of access and educates the public on the services offered.
Office of Public Defender
The Internship Program is designed to give interns exposure to the work environment of a Public Defender’s Office, including opportunities to observe and assist in legal proceedings and contribute to the work of the criminal defense team. The Program integrates interns into our Office and allows them to assume some of the same responsibilities as our full time personnel.

Public Health
The Maricopa County Department of Public Health offers a public health focused dietetic internship program with two tracks which are accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education, American Dietetic Association.
