Fridays Fitness Hike - Meet at Lousley Hill Trailhead - McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
ALL Fridays in February 8:00-9:30 am(hike length varies). Friday Fitness Hikes will meet at various locations in the Park. Geared toward all levels of fitness . . . get your hike on! Come to one or all of the Fitness Hiking Series, every Friday. It's a great way to get outdoors, meet people and get fit. Please wear sturdy shoes & bring plenty of water.

"Keep the Resolution Strong" - 60+ Fitness Hike - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Keep your New Year’s resolution strong with a fun fitness hike at Usery Park! As we soak up the natural beauty of our desert we will be elevating our heart rates and working our muscle groups. This 3-mile brisk walk will loop us around the scenic Cat Peaks as we enjoy a little gain in elevation. Please bring water and closed-toe shoes. Location: Trail Staging Area.

Healthy Hiking at Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
February 10 Friday 9:00 am Healthy Hiking (moderate) Join us for a 2.5 mile / 1.5 hour aerobic walk through a portion of the Conservation Area. Participants need not be tri-athletes, just ordinary folks who would like to begin or add diversity to their existing walking program.

Backyard Birding - Usery Park

Do you drink coffee on your back porch Saturday mornings wondering about the names of the little birds flittering about? Bring your coffee to Usery Park and explore the endless possibilities of backyard birding with bird expert, Sandy Hornbaker. Learn how to attract different birds to your own backyard and what you must provide to your feathered friends. Ask Sandy what your responsibilities are as a backyard birdwatcher and what you can expect. Please bring binoculars and water. Location: Campsite 21 in the Buckhorn Campground.

Super Saguaro Walk - Usery Park

Why do saguaros grow arms? Can you estimate the age of a saguaro? Can you drink water from one? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about saguaros, then this scenic 1-mile stroll along the Merkle Trail is for you! Location: Area 6.

Brown Bag Historic Pemberton Ranch Hike - McDowell Park
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Friday, 2/10; 11 am – 1 pm; Brown Bag Historic Pemberton Ranch Hike Hike begins at the Trailhead Staging area. Join Ranger Amy on an interpretive hike to historic Pemberton Ranch. Children should have some previous hiking experience, as hiking time is 2 hours, and 3 miles. Bring a bag lunch for a picnic out at the ranch site, and of course, plenty of water and sturdy shoes for the hike. No pets please.

All About Hiking Safety - "Brown-Bag It" with Ranger B - Usery Park

What are the special challenges that hikers face? What are the things you need to know to make your hikes safe? If you would like to know the answers to these questions, or any questions you may have about hiking safety, then this one-hour presentation is for you! Bring your sandwich to the “Brown-Bag It” series inside our Nature Center as Ranger B shares important tips to help you stay safe on your hikes. Location: Nature Center.

Valentine Luminary Walk at White Tank Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
We will try to set a romantic mood in Area 4 and along the Black Rock Short loop for you and your valentine. This is an older participant event in that children under 15 may not find it enjoyable, so, leave them home and enjoy a night on your own. Trubadour Doc will provide some mellow songs for your edification. No dogs please.
