Follow the Regulatory Process
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors adopted a county-wide Enhanced Regulatory Outreach Program policy in an effort to promote consistency and transparency among regulatory departments. This policy (revised 3/25/13) allows multiple opportunities for stakeholder input regarding the adoption and amendment of all regulatory requirements and includes alternative expedited processes. You can follow a rule through the steps in the rulemaking process; see the steps below. Additionally, you can sign up to receive updates as rules or regulations progress through each step in the process by clicking on the icon to the right.
Alternative expedited processes consist of the Expedited Process and an Incorporation by Reference Process . These two new process options are denoted by the following:

In the event the Department fails to observe adoption procedures pertaining to Maricopa County’s Enhanced Regulatory Outreach Program policy, citizens can submit a complaint. Click here.
