(Anthem) For north Valley residents, this fall will bring cooler temperatures and access to a new trail system. On October 16 at 9:30 a.m., Maricopa County’s Parks and Recreation Department and Pulte Homes unveiled the Anthem Equestrian Trailhead located at Desert Hills and 11th Avenue.
The current length of the trail is just over four-miles; however, efforts are underway to complete a segment that will link the trail to Cave Creek Regional Park and the Spur Cross Conservation Area.
The new trailhead will provide Anthem residents access to the Maricopa Regional Trail System which, when fully completed, will be approximately 1,521 miles,” stated R.J. Cardin, Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Director.
The 2.5-acre trailhead contains eight stabilized granite parking spaces, ten horse trailer parking spaces, a water trough and two hitching rails.
