LEPC Grant Funds New Sun Lakes Fire Equipment

Sun Lakes Fire District Deputy Chief Daniel Guerra is pleased with his new equipment - two gas monitors purchased with grant funds from the Maricopa County Local Emergency Planning Committee (MCLEPC). These new monitors will replace two old monitors that continually had required maintenance.

These grant funds were passed through by the Arizona Emergency Response Commission and are used for the purchase of hazardous materials response equipment. The MCLEPC applies for these funds on behalf of the fire agencies who submit proposals. A request for proposals will be announced in early fall.

Other recipients purchasing equipment with grant funds from the MCLEPC are: Tolleson Fire Department, Gilbert Fire Department and Surprise Fire Department.
