Power of Small Business Feted on June 10
We can never give small businesses enough credit for the work they do to keep the economy going. Nor can we appropriately thank the owners for their entrepreneurial spirit for creating jobs and giving back to the community. On June 10, MCbiz—Maricopa County Small Business Enterprise Program—will honor several small businesses that are making a huge impact in our community.
During a workshop and awards program at ASU SkySong, several business leaders will share how “The Power of Small Business in Local Economies” can create a roadmap for successful small business endeavors. The program is one several local activities that celebrates the outstanding achievements of minority and small business enterprises during National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week.
MCbiz is pleased to recognize Topete Stonefield, Inc., Complete Print Shop, Emerald Harvest, Diamondback Promotions and JE Fuller/Hydrology & Geomorphology during this event.
Speakers include representatives from SRP, the double-diamond sponsor and Google. Small business speakers include Johnny Mitchell, owner of Milestones West, Monica Edwards, owner of Legacy Group Consultants, and Loretta Love Huff, president of Emerald Harvest Consulting. Valerie Churchwell of Turner Construction Company is also in the line-up.
The workshop and awards program is free. The program will be held in the Convergence Room at ASU SkySong, 1475 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale 85257. To reserve a seat, attendees are urged to RSVP by calling (602) 506-2249. The deadline to sign up is Friday, June 6.
