The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors announce March 10-15 are the final days to visit www.RunningOutofAir.com and become eligible for a chance to win a brand new 2008 Toyota Prius, courtesy of the Phoenix Suns. The Running Out of Air campaign launched last month as a means to educate and encourage all Maricopa County residents to visit the Web site, RunningOutofAir.com, Make the Clean Air Commitment and take action to clean the air we all breathe.
The Phoenix Suns was the first organization to partner with this County-wide initiative by offering RunningOutofAir.com visitors who make the Clean Air Commitment a chance to win the Toyota Prius, a fuel-efficient hybrid vehicle. Maricopa County residents have until midnight on March 15, 2008 to Make the Clean Air Commitment to reduce dust pollution, and enter to win the 2008 Toyota Prius valued at $25,000.
During the week of March 16, ten finalists who made the Clean Air Commitment will be randomly selected and notified via e-mail that they have a chance to win the Prius. The winners will each receive two tickets to the Phoenix Suns vs. Houston Rockets game on Saturday, March 22 and will participate in a contest during halftime for a chance to win the grand prize.
“We commend the Suns for stepping up to make the Clean Air Commitment and for partnering with Maricopa County in taking an active role to help to improve the air we breathe,” said Andrew Kunasek, chairman, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors; District 3. “The Prius giveaway will help bring awareness to the campaign and motivate Suns fans and Maricopa County residents to take action to improve air quality.”
There are many easy ways Maricopa County residents can take action and make the commitment to cleaning up our air and they can be viewed on www.RunningOutofAir.com. The three major commitments Running Out of Air asks everyone to make include:
• Use a rake or a broom instead of a leaf blower.
• Consolidate errands to cut down on multiple trips in your car.
• Don’t use wood-burning fireplaces, especially on High Pollution Advisory (HPA) days.
More suggestions are posted on the Web site, and everyone in Maricopa County is urged to do all they can to help; visit RunningOutofAir.com to Make the Clean Air Commitment, take action and clean the air we all breathe.
