MCACC Launches Adoption Promotion

(Phoenix, August 8, 2013) – Puppies, purebreds and toy breeds are quick to be adopted from any of Maricopa County Animal Care & Control’s (MCACC) four adoption locations. It’s the Pit Bull mixes and adult dogs that have a tough time finding homes.

There are currently more than 100 dogs at MCACC shelters who have been awaiting adoption since June. Palmdale, a five-year-old Pit Bull mix, has been at MCACC since March 21st; two-year-old Sequin has been waiting since May – both dogs are at MCACC’s East Valley Animal Care Center in Mesa.

MCACC hopes that by partnering with the Arizona Diamondbacks on a Bench Warmers adoption promotion, some of these dogs will find new homes. In sports, bench warmers are substitutes who rarely get to play in a game. At MCACC, bench warmers are dogs that are eager to find a new home and prove they can be a great addition to any family. MCACC’s bench warmers have also been at the shelter for 60 days or longer. Their adoption fee is only $17.

Through the Bench Warmers promotion, the first 25 people to adopt a MCACC bench warmer will receive a voucher for two bleacher seats to any remaining regular season Arizona Diamondbacks home game. The promotion kicks off Saturday, August 10th and runs until ticket vouchers run out.
