Blue Sky Award Deadline Extension

Clean Air Make More announced today that it has extended the deadline for nominations of the Blue Sky Awards to Friday, Oct. 2.  Individuals and organizations that are committed to improving the air quality in Maricopa County have one additional week to complete nominations for these prestigious awards. The winners will be recognized at the Partnering for Cleaner Air Annual Air Quality Conference on Oct. 20 at the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center.  Awards will be presented to those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and have made notable contributions in protecting and enhancing air quality in Maricopa County.

 

“This new award program is an acknowledgement of the important role that residents, businesses and government play in improving the quality of our air,” said Lawrence Odle, director of the Maricopa County Air Quality Department.  “As important, is to assemble local leaders, experts and residents to create dialogue around the issue at the upcoming Annual Air Quality Conference.” Registration for the conference is now open at www.AnnualAirQualityConference.com/registration.

 

The categories for the Blue Sky Awards include:

  • Air Pollution Reduction and Compliance
  • Outstanding Industry Manager
  • Governmental Agency Excellence in Air Pollution Reduction Efforts
  • Exceptional Public Education/Outreach Program
  • Innovative Control Technology Implementation
  • Innovative Research
  • Air Quality Excellence
  • Outstanding Blue Sky Academic Recognition

 

For this inaugural award program consideration will be given to nominees whose efforts during the past several years merit consideration. Submitting individuals will have a chance to win the coveted Blue Sky Award and receive recognition from city and state officials as well as their peers.
