Many of you have inquired about documents relating to the new Downtown Court Tower. To make this process easier for you, tens of thousands of documents relating to the construction of the Maricopa County Criminal Court Tower are now available for inspection on the first floor of the County Administration Building at 301 West Jefferson. The documents room will open Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m.
The county now has three legal staffers reviewing the documents for confidentiality and privileged communications. As more documents are reviewed, they will be added to the records room. There are currently nine boxes in the room, located on the first floor of the County Administration Building.
The documents come from a host of county agencies, so they are not arranged in a particular pattern. If you want a specific document, you can ask for it as a public records request or contact the particular agency or department in question.
The documents room will be available starting this Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 16 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Following that, the room will be available every Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment. Call me at 602-506-7232 or Kimberly Roman at 602-2468.
In addition, a comprehensive informational website on the criminal court tower is up at http://www.maricopa.gov/courttower/. The website contains a project description, activities and schedule, its budget, details on interior construction materials, consultants, contractors and the procurement procedures, news articles, internal audits, frequently asked questions, live construction site video and an informational hotline on the home page for questions or comments.
