Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) is overrun with dogs and cats, big and small. Right now, there are more than 1,000 animals at in the shelter. MCACC is doing everything we can to save as many lives as possible. Our Life Release Rate is over 60% and we need to maintain that! Adoptable dogs and cats are stacked two+ deep in every available space. Maricopa County is at a critical crossroads in relation to eliminating the senseless euthanasia of adoptable pets.
In order to move forward, we need the community to step up and help us by adopting pets from our shelters. We cannot do it alone. We have many adorable, healthy pets in our shelters. Some have been here for weeks. Through Sunday, August 30th, all dogs and puppies are $50. All cats and kittens are $34. The price includes spay/neuter surgery and a rabies vaccination (and dog license for dogs).
Maricopa County Supervisors’ Chairman Max Wilson encourages individuals and families to adopt an animal this week. “We ask all residents of Maricopa County to consider a shelter pet as the next addition to their household,” he said. “Get out there and save a life.”
Dogs and cats have so much love to offer. They make great companions. They love to play and are ready with a snuggle any time. So hurry in today and add a new member to your household. For more information on MCACC, visit www.pets.maricopa.gov or call (602) 506-7387.
