PHOENIX – (May 7, 2009) The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) learned today that The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed 15 additional cases of the H1N1\Swine Flu in Maricopa County bringing the county total to 35.
With the State Laboratory beginning to process lab samples in addition to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, we still anticipate seeing additional cases of H1N1\Swine Flu and Seasonal Flu throughout Maricopa County. These new cases do NOT change our course of action as we continue to work harder than ever with our community health and school partners in monitoring disease trends in our Valley.
“The community must continue to do its part in preventing its spread and we will keep you updated as we learn more about both the H1N1\Swine Flu virus and the Seasonal Flu virus.” said Dr. Bob England, director of Maricopa Department of Public Health.
