Volunteers in the Spotlight 

East Valley Volunteers improving and saving lives through mission

April 20, 2008 – Grand Canyon Chapter volunteers, including nine from the east valley, were honored at the annual Volunteer Recognition event held at North Phoenix Baptist Church on Saturday, April 18^th.

John Padilla, an emergency planner with Maricopa County Emegency Management, secured the Good Neighbor award which is given to someone for innovative solutions to help meet the needs of our community. He has been pivotal in providing solutions for potential disaster shelters for general and special needs populations. Padilla is a recognized leader and a valued partner of the Red Cross.
