FIRE BAN INFORMATION
Effective
Tuesday, May 27, 2014 through Friday, August 29, 2014
Maricopa County's regional parks will initiate the annual fire ban. This includes banning the use of all
campfire, fire pits and charcoal grills; however, it is still acceptable to use gas/propane grills in designated areas such as the ramada areas, semi-developed and developed camping sites, and along the shoreline at Lake Pleasant Regional Park.
If the parks do not receive ample rain during the monsoon season, the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department
may extend the fire ban to protect the parks resources and ensure visitor safety. To learn more, click here.

As with all Maricopa County Parks, equestrians are welcome into the park riding their own horse and must stay on designated trails. All trails are multi-use unless otherwise designated. All trail users are encouraged to practice proper trail etiquette.

Horse Staging Area
A staging area for your horse(s) is available at this park. Please view our maps section for available trails.

Trails
Cave Creek Regional Park offers over 11 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Park trails range in length from 0.2 miles to 4.8 miles and range in difficulty from easy to difficult.

If you are looking for an easy, relatively short hike the Slate Trail is recommended. If you are looking for a longer, more difficult hike, try the 4.8-mile Go John Trail.

The trails within the Cave Creek Regional Park are very popular because of the dramatic elevations which offer spectacular views of the surrounding plains.

All trails are multi-use unless otherwise designated. All trail users are encouraged to practice proper trail etiquette.

Always remember to carry plenty of water and let someone know where you are going.

Horseback Riding Stables
Step back in time, as we share the mining history of the Cave Creek Regional Park. Paint a memory-making picture of pioneer life ranching and mining in this area 150 years ago. Enjoy vistas of the human world of Phoenix or the wide-open empty space of the desert. Our knowledgeable guides will educate you on the unique desert flora and fauna of the Arizona Desert.
