| Explore the local geology with Joe Ford. Joe will lead a short hike with an emphasis on rock types, alluvial fill analysis, explanations related to strata present, and discussions on the erosion from water in forming sediment deposits and undercuts as a result of flash flood events. Some introduction to the earth’s geologic history will be done before the actual walk to observe local features that are the result of erosion activity. Meet at the Coldwater Trailhead. Sturdy shoes, hat and plenty of water are highly recommended. |
