5/26/2015 - Extended due to dry conditions. A date to cancel the fire ban has not yet been determined.
Maricopa County's regional parks will initiate the annual fire ban. This includes banning the use of all campfire, fire pits and charcoal grills; however, it is still acceptable to use gas/propane grills in designated areas such as the ramada areas, semi-developed and developed camping sites, and along the shoreline at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. If the parks do not receive ample rain during the monsoon season, the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department may extend the fire ban to protect the parks resources and ensure visitor safety. Lake Pleasant Regional Park
NEW UPDATE, THE LOWER TRAIL HAS WASHED OUT AND IS VERY MUDDY DUE TO RAIN THE PAST 24 HOURS, SO THE 8 MILE COURSE WILL NOT BE OFFERED THIS YEAR, THE 4 MILE WILL STILL GO ACROSS THE DAM. Come join us for a fun healthy event! This day is the only day of the year you can cross over the Waddell Dam at Lake Pleasant. Registration will be coming soon through the link on the main Lake Pleasant page. You can also print out the course map as well from there.

There will again be a 2 mile "Dam Fun" road course (does not go on dam, but strollers are allowed on this course only), a 4 mile "Dam Challenging" course (crosses over the dam twice, and has a steep hill and an off road portion), and the 8 mile "Dam Tough" course that crosses over the dam and has many miles of diverse trails with steep hills.

To register for the event, please visit or contact park staff at 928.501.1710!
