Little Critters Storytime w/ Ranger Amy - *Note new summer time*- McDowell
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Little Critters Storytime with Ranger Amy - (Geared toward preschool and older children) Join us most Thursdays in August (except for 8/30) for a themed program set around a children's book read aloud by Ranger Amy. Activities vary and may include live animals, songs, crafts, and/or puppet plays. This program takes place in our air-conditioned Visitor Center.

Walking Stick Creations at White Tank Park
White Tank Mountains Regional Park
We will be customizing our own hiking sticks in the Nature Center classroom on August 2nd. The Park will provide the sticks, paint and other art supplies, all you need are your ideas. Wear clothes that can get painted, just in case. The fee will be $10 which will cover some of the material costs. This is a family event.

Creature Feature - Movies in the Park - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Families, are you looking for something cool to do? Grab a mat, pillow, or blanket, and spend the afternoon watching a movie on a giant screen inside our cool Nature Center! In today’s movie: “How to Train Your Dragon”, the son of a Viking chief must capture a dragon in order to prove himself to the tribe. Can he do it? What will happen? Come to Usery Park and find out! Concessions will be available for purchase, however you are welcome to bring your own food and beverages – no glass containers, please. Location: Nature Center.

Full Moon Hike - Spur Cross
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
August 2 Thursday 7:30 pm Full Moon Hike (moderate) The Conservation Area is a different experience when seen softly illuminated by the silver moon. While we will attempt to minimize the use of flashlights, bring one in case you need it.

Full Moon Hike- San Tan
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
Discover the beauty of the Sonoran Desert at night, as we hike under the light from the full moon. Join us for a pristine 1.3 -mile stroll along the Goldmine and Littleleaf Trails. Listen for the sounds of wildlife and explore the night-life atmosphere. The pace of the hike will be relatively mild or slow to help enjoy the surroundings. Flashlights are welcomed. NOTE: This program is part of the “County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this summer” series and we will be raffling off a family-four pack at the end of the program.
