Yoga – Connect In Nature! – All Levels Class - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Connect with nature in Usery Park’s Nature Center by exploring your breath before a desert hike. Improve your balance for a bike ride through easy-to-learn, fundamental yoga postures. This all-levels class for both beginners and experienced yogis sets the tone for your day of hiking, riding or…yes, even your workday! Please join Inner Vision Yoga and their certified instructors for inspiring yoga every Monday night at 6pm, Tuesday and Thursday at 9am, and Saturday at 8:30am. Archery 101 - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Interested in archery? Curious about how to shoot a bow? Come to Usery Park and find out! You will discover how fun archery really is! Participants will experience a fun and safe introduction to recreational and international-style target archery. Equipment will be provided. This class is open to anyone ages 8 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Advanced registration is required. Please call the park at 480-984-0032 to register. Limited to 20 participants. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Meet at the Archery Range. This class is also offered at 10:30am.

Blooming Cactus - Cave Creek Regional Park

We are going to take a walk and learn all about the cactus blooms of the desert. From Saguaros to Barrel Cactus, all these spiny plants start to show their softer side. This will be an easy 1 mile walk on our Slate Trail. Always bring plenty of water and sturdy shoes. Meet at the Slate Trailhead.

Find the Ranger - Wind Cave Trail - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
This open-house style program features our ranger hiking along the Wind Cave Trail and stopping to talk to park visitors. Our ranger will show off his “Backpack of Knowledge” and be available to answer questions about the park, discuss park history, identify desert plants, or even explain which animals call Usery Park "home". Carry ample water.

Saturday Bird Walk - Usery Park

How do you tell one brown bird from the next, and what are the first three items to look for as the little rascal flits off? Are you already a novice but interested in keeping a yearly, state or country bird list? Bird expert, Sandy Hornbaker, will talk about bird habitat, behavior, range, etc. as we go in search of the native birds in this area. Please bring binoculars and water. Location: Trail Staging Area.

Scrambled EGGstravaganza - Crafts and Games - San Tan

Once you have completed Rascal's Scavenger Hunt, find the magical craft lady to receive your special prize. Take part in some fun craft activities, face painting and EGGStra special games (carrot toss, egg obstacle course, etc...). Craft supplies are limited, so arrive early. Scrambled EGGstravaganza - Scavenger Hunt - San Tan

Rascal the Rabbit is up to his usual tricks and hidden some EGGStravagant treats at San Tan Mountain Regional Park. In order to receive his EGGSeptional item, you must locate secret clues he left along the Bunny Trail(roughly half-mile round-trip). Check in at the Visitor Center to receive a special map to help you locate Rascal’s treasure. Stay after for some fun craft activities. Supplies are limited. Activity available between 9 a.m. and noon.

The Lake Pleasant Dam Good Run Walk Event
Lake Pleasant Regional Park

Registration forms and payment proceedures are now on the Lake Pleasant website, Sign up! This year's Dam Good Run Walk event is Saturday April 7th.

We will again be featuring a "Dam Fun" 2 mile, that goes up to the dam and back, not on it. On this all paved route you can bring a stroller, have a wheelchair, or run/walk all on pavement.

We will have the same "Dam Challenging" four mile route again, which does cross the dam and includes a dirt trail the last mile.

This year there will be a new "Dam Tough" route. It will be somewhere in the area of 8 miles and will feature a more hilly route and includes a nice canyon. More details will be coming on this new route.

Mark your calendar - Save the date - and get ready for a Dam Good time!

Desert Wildflower Walks- North Trail – McDowell Park

Join Ranger Amy to identify the gorgeous desert flowers that are blooming in the desert. Every week, different species will appear as the wildflower season unfolds—it is always a surprise what we find! Call the park for updates. Be sure to bring your camera! Every week will be a new location in the park, based on where the prime blooms are, that week. This week's walk is on the North Trail. Meet at the North Trail Trailhead.

Rascal the Rabbit has hidden eggs at the San Tan Mountain Regional Park. Help Ranger Adam collect all of Rascal's eggs to receive special goodies. Supplies are limited. Chick egg hunt (for youth ages 4 and under) begins at 11 a.m. Bunny egg hunt (for youth between the ages of 5 & 10) begins at 11:20 a.m. Jackrabbit egg hunt (for youth ages 11 & up) begins at 11:40 a.m.

Bring your sandwich to the “Brown-Bag It” series under the comfort of a shaded patio (with a great view!), as our birding expert, Sandy Hornbaker, helps you identify our melodious desert birds through the use of recordings. Intro to Animal Tracking -Nursery Tank Trail– McDowell Park

Intro to Animal Tracking Ever wondered what animal left their mark on the trail before you? Even when we don’t see actual animals, we can determine which animals are in the Park through signs such as tracks and scat. On this short 0.6 mile round trip walk to the Nursery Tank pond, we’ll use the clues they left behind to find out which animals visited the night before. Meet at the Nursery Tank Trailhead.

This program is designed for kids ages 7-12. Jenn is an undergraduate student at Arizona State University, majoring in Sustainability, and is also a student intern at Usery Mountain Regional Park. History of the Mexican Vaquero - Cave Creek Regional Park

We will take you through the history of the Mexican Vaquero on this unforgettable journey. You will meet C.L. “Lee” Anderson, a living historian, and his horse Concho as he guides you through this historical journey as never seen before. He will take you back to relive the days of the American cowboys versus the Mexican cowboys and reveal their hardships they had to endure. Bring everything you ever wanted to know about the days of the Vaquero and find out why everyone would admit that the Mexican cowboy could out rope and out ride. Bring camping chairs or a comfortable blanket to sit on in our outdoor amphitheater. *****Join us for a campfire after this program right at the amphitheater! Bring your smores supplies and roasting sticks if you would like!Meet at the Nature Center Amphitheater. NOTE: This program is part of the “County Parks are getting Wet ‘n’ Wild this summer” series and we will be raffling off a family-four pack at the end of the program.
