Fitness Focused - Cave Creek Regional Park
Cave Creek Regional Park
Join us for every Thursday in April as we get out on the trail to get our feet moving and heart pumping. We will bring you throughout a different part of the park each week and total 2.5 to 3.5 miles each week. It is getting warm out there so bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Meet at the Go John Trailhead.

Exploring Desert Washes - Usery Park
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Have you ever walked inside a wash? What makes them so special and unique? How do washes contribute to the health of the desert itself? Join us for a look at the fascinating world of desert washes as we explore their importance to the desert ecosystem. This walk is 1.5 mile in length. Please bring water, hats, and closed-toe shoes. Location: Trail Staging Area.

Thursday Bird Walk - Usery Park

How do you tell one brown bird from the next, and what are the first three items to look for as the little rascal flits off? Are you already a novice but interested in keeping a yearly, state or country bird list? Bird expert, Sandy Hornbaker, will talk about bird habitat, behavior, range, etc. as we go in search of the native birds in this area. Please bring binoculars and water. Connect with nature in Usery Park’s Nature Center by exploring your breath before a desert hike. Improve your balance for a bike ride through easy-to-learn, fundamental yoga postures. This all-levels class for both beginners and experienced yogis sets the tone for your day of hiking, riding or…yes, even your workday! Please join Inner Vision Yoga and their certified instructors for inspiring yoga every Monday night at 6pm, Tuesday and Thursday at 9am, and Saturday at 8:30am. Enjoy the comfort of the visitor center and watch this exciting movie on our huge projector screen. But this is no ordinary movie theater. Our resident animals love movie day and will be outstanding company as they watch the movie with you, from inside their enclosures of course. Stay for one movie or watch them both. You are encouraged to bring snacks/lunch, pillows/blankets and make yourself super comfy.

Splash of Desert Color Walk - Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Let's see what is blooming in the desert and find the many colors that treat us this time of year. This short walk is about one mile total and we will spend around an hour looking for the beauty on the sides of this very pretty desert trail. I'll meet you at the south end of the Pipeline Canyon Trail. Don't forget your water!

Bees conversing with humans? Yep! That’s only the beeginning of the “Bee Movie” (rated PG). Come see what happens when a bee breaks the rules. Ranger Mark will be showing this feature in the Nature Center on the "BIG" screen. Bring a picnic lunch to eat in the park, afterwards. Fun!

Bring your own lunch and sit in the shade of Nature Center to participate in a focused topic discussion about the Gopher snake, the ultimate desert mimic. This will last about an hour. Consider hiking one of our many trails before or after lunch. A $6.00 fee will be collected for the event. This fee will also get you into the Park after the program.
