where all 598 students come from homeless families, a small boy reported
to Erin Angelini, the social worker, that he had no idea where to go
after school. The night before, he and his mother were evicted from the
motel where they had been living..

Holiday surprise awaits Pappas children
The President of the United States,
George W. Bush, and Maricopa County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Sandra
E. Dowling, meet during a recent campaign trip to Phoenix. The President's
Washington staff submitted a picture to Dr. Dowling's office acknowledging
the event. This picture illuminates two leaders whose unique bond is, creating
a better tomorrow for all school age children.

Governor Napolitano and Dr. Dowling
Dr. Sandra Dowling and Gov. Janet Napolitano met recently
at the State Capitol in Phoenix, Arizona. During their visit
Dr. Dowling was able to discuss educational issues with the
newly elected Governor.
