Child Care Health Consultation (CCHC) Services Provided to Quality First Child Care Programs in Maricopa County:
Tier 2 and Tier 3 Quality First Child Care Programs

Meet on-site with participating Quality First child care providers to assess health and safety practices.

Make recommendations to improve health and safety-assuring compliance with licensing regulations.

Assist with developing or updating health and safety policy and procedures.

Provide education and training on a variety of health and safety topics for child care staff and parents.

Provide nutrition and physical activities information, including ideas for combating obesity.

Provide referrals to community services.

Assist in the coordination of care and access to immunizations, health, mental health, dental and developmental screenings.

Provide telephone advice for participating Quality First child care providers.
Additional services are available for eligible Tier 2 and Tier 3 level Quality First! participants.
Participation in Quality First is voluntary. Multiple financial and support incentives are built in to encourage provider participation.
FTF Regional Partnership councils have funded over 400 child care programs for the Quality First Program.
Quality First seeks to establish a culture of continuous improvement toward higher levels of quality to be defined as 3 to 5 stars when the rating system is implemented.
