FIRE BAN CURRENTLY IN PLACE...
The fire ban includes the use of campfires, fire pits and charcoal grills; however, it is still acceptable to use gas/propane grills in designated areas such as the ramada areas, semi-developed and developed camping sites and along the shoreline at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. If necessary, additional details will be posted on park specific pages under the "Alert" section in the upper right hand corner of the page.
A date to lift the fire ban has not been identified and will be determined by the amount of rain
Maricopa County receives during the monsoon season.

Third Annual Cave Creek Bicycle Festival
Cave Creek Regional Park
The Town of Cave Creek is engaged in a monumental effort to preserve pristine Sonoran Desert lands north of the Phoenix metropolitan area. By annexing over 6,000 acres of State Trust Land into the Town, Cave Creek negotiated a plan to preserve over 4,000 acres as permanent open space which will be used for hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing and as a buffer against rapid urban expansion. This land must be purchased from the State Land Department. To raise the funds necessary for this critical preservation effort, the Town is hosting a number of special events to showcase the lands being protected, generate public interest and raise money for acquisition. All proceeds from this event will go toward the acquisition of open space. Events include a 20-mile race/ride along the lands slated to be protected between Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area and Cave Creek Regional Park, scavenger hunt bike ride, outdoor vendor expo, beer garden, outdoor bike movie theater and a "Kids Kriterium"! This event is organized by the Town of Cave Creek. This event is not organized by the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department, but some of the courses will take you through two of our beautiful parks!
