The Africanized strain of honeybees reached Maricopa County several years ago. All feral hives or swarms that are observed should be considered "Africanized". Maricopa County Environmental Services Department Vector Control Division investigates all feral bee complaints. If you encounter a swarm or colony on your property, you should call your local pest control company to remove the bees.
