Quality & Compliance Division

The Quality & Compliance Division (QC) serves the Department in various aspects to achieve its mission of providing training, customer service, and enforcement support, while encouraging communication, and ensuring consistency for the Department. QC oversees several programs; each has a unique and vital role in the Department's goal of protecting public health and the environment.

Quality & Compliance Division Organization

Environmental Related Illness - The Environmental Related Illness program is responsible for the investigation of foodborne, waterborne and reported communicable diseases.

Language Liaisons - Language Liaisons bridge cultural and language barriers that may exist between the Department, its permit holders and the general public we serve by providing verbal translations, written material, trainings, working with customers, and through public outreach.

Training - The Training team fulfills training needs for the Environmental Services Department and provides public outreach to the community.

Stormwater Quality - The purpose of the Stormwater Quality Program is to provide for the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of Maricopa County through the prohibition of non-stormwater discharges to the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) to the maximum extent practicable as required by federal and state law. The program provides educational services to Maricopa County residents so they can increase their awareness to help reduce or eliminate stormwater pollution.

Public Records Management - Department public records are maintained in accordance with applicable State statues, County policies and State approved record retention schedules. All public record requests are completed by the Department in a timely manner.

Rulemaking - All adopted Department code revisions are processed in accordance with County policy by QC through the Enhanced Regulatory Outreach Program (EROP), which is designed to help citizens become more involved in the rule making process.
