The rapid growth of Maricopa County since
2000, (population greater then 25% and parcel count greater
then 30%) coupled with current growth projections could
continue to stretch available assessor resources to meet
demands for service.

Adverse legislative changes may continue
to have significant resource and workload implications.

New technological solutions could create
the opportunity to reengineer business processes and may
test staff ability to adapt to change over the next two
and a half years.

- By May 31, 2009, advocate
rigorously for property tax reform so that the assessment process
is more logical, user friendly and is more easily understood
by property owners.
- By December 5, 2009, 100 percent of our regression models
will be peer reviewed in the CAMA group and field reviewed by
the appraisal staff so that all geographical fluctuations and
property characteristics are correctly captured resulting in
a higher degree of valuation accuracies and property owner satisfaction.
- By March 1, 2011, 100 percent of a redesigned automated appraisal
tool and information system will be implemented giving us the
system capabilities needed to simultaneously adapt to legislative
changes so that all properties in Maricopa County are fairly
and equitably valued.
